"The goal shouldn't be to eliminate technology, but to teach kids how to make good choices.“ -
Dr. Delaney Ruston, filmmaker of „Screenagers“

In a world where 3 out of 5 children are using smartphones, there's an increasing demand for parents and professionals who can effectively guide their kids through the complexities of digital environments.

In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, understanding and managing the impact of electronics on children’s lives can feel overwhelming. This hands-on, practical workshop provides parents and professionals with essential tools to navigate the complexities of digital engagement confidently.

Our nervous system is not originally wired to process this level of stimulation and information overload. Maybe this influences why we develop default patterns more easily in this area of the human experience.

Join us for this comprehensive 2-day workshop designed for parents that want to know what to do when the kids are engaging with electronics and for professionals that want to have clarity and a tool to inform and guide children and families.

What You'll Gain:

  • Learn the 4-observable states framework to assess when children’s screen use is balanced or excessive.
  • Master the Digital River metaphor to simplify your understanding and inform families of the digital landscape.
  • Develop language and have access to tools for supporting children through emotional challenges when shifting digital habits.
  • Understanding the logic behind the videos children watch, the games they play so that you can be aware of the dynamics that can be more or less harmful. (you don't need to know anything about tech)
  • Gain insight into how the nervous system responds to digital stimuli, allowing you to manage current and future digital challenges such as power conflicts, conditioning, and digital dependence.
  • Acquire actionable tactics for a balanced approach to technology use in personal, family, and professional settings.

Day 1:
Mapping the Digital Terrain:

  • Practical sessions on tracking and assessing digital behavior to know when it’s safe to let children enjoy electronics.
  • Have in hand a comprehensive map of Zones of Safety, Growth, and No Go!
  • Common dynamics and methods used in videos, anymations, and games that accelerate or slowdown conditioning and digital dependence.

Day 2:
Navigating Digital Currents

  • Strategies for supporting children through digital habit changes and emotional breakdowns.
  • Experiential learning on how to stay with children emotionally during habit shifts.
